Version 1.01-XP

3dfx Voodoo 4/5 Series Windows XP drivers (D3D, OpenGL, and Glide support)
==========================================================================
These drivers are repackaged from various parts of previous official 3dfx driver releases. They are beta and as such are not supported by 3dfx, x3dfx, 3dfx Underground, their creators, etc. They have been put together by evilbanshee and packaged with the 3dfx Tools program by ZeroSignull. Originally packaged for Voodoo3 boards, repacked for boards based on the VSA-100 GPU by 3dfx Underground.

Installation
============

Simply run the Setup.exe file in the install folder and follow all on-screen prompts.

Use on other 3dfx Voodoo graphics boards
========================================
If you wish, you may use these drivers on previous 3dfx Voodoo boards, but only those based on the 3dfx Voodoo3 GPU. You may install them as they are, but the drivers will install for boards based on the VSA-100. This will create the anomoly of incorrect, missing, and/or gratuitous, non-working settings in 3dfx Tools. To correct the issue, before installing the driver kit, replace the 3dfxvs2k.cat and 3dfxvs2k.inf files found in the driver2k directory of the install folder with the Voodoo3.cat and Voodoo3.inf files found in other driver releases, or simply download the Voodoo3 drivers from evilbanshee or ZeroSignull.

Updating These Drivers
======================
Of course you may attempt to update the driver files. However, due to the heavy inter-API dependence (OpenGL relies on D3D and Glide, which also relies on D3D), and key differences in driver versions, this combonation was extemely hard to locate. Updating a single file will make the others invalid and as such you very well may lose Glide, OpenGL, both, or even all API functionality, or even go as far as to completely dishevel the equalibrium as to screw up 2D mode. Basically, updating is impossible as far as is known. However, not all possible, feasible combinations have been tried; there are still many combinations that could possibly work. We can rule out most combinations, but there is some gray area between which files are dependent on which part(s) of other files, and what version(s) of the file(s) have these parts or part. 3dfx Underground will continue to seek out less widely-used driver files and combine different plausible combinations to hopefully find an equalibrium that will allow all the functions this release does and also use newer driver files.

Credits
=======
All credit for original compilation of drivers goes to evilbanshee. Special thanks goes out to ZeroSignull for packaging 3dfx Tools to these drivers (saved 3dfx Underground some work, for sure). All other work done by 3dfx Underground, including compilation for VSA-100 GPU-based graphics boards.

Future Releases
===============
It is quite possible that 3dfx Underground may release updated versions of this and other driver sets for 3dfx Voodoo graphics boards. Check back at 3dfxunderground.cjb.net for news and new releases for 3dfx products, as well as helpful utilities, tweaks, reviews, and all things 3dfx.
